Storyland - RTE

OK, not lookingf or participants, but if you can spare a moment check out www.rte.ie/storyland and maybe put a vote in for BUTCHERS, it will only take you a minute.

Will Ferrell, The Onion News Network and the likes of Peter Serafinowicz are leading the way, producing cutting edge TV comedy for the web. Joining them is a new Irish comedy series BUTCHERS which has won the first round of RTÉ’s Storyland scheme.

Now in its second year this competition funds a number of series from new and emerging creative talent and pits them against each other online.

BUTCHERS stars Keith McErlean (most recently seen in RTÉ’s “RAW”) and popular stand-up comedian John Lynn. It’s a quirky little comedy about two office workers, Gerry and Enda, who after becoming victims of the credit crash decide to reopen a recently inherited butcher's shop. Brendan adds, “They can’t tell a cow’s tongue from an ox’s tail and are quite possibly the worst butchers ever. Still, give or take odd death, dismemberment and a case or two of accidental cannibalism they’re making a go of it.”

The next episode of BUTCHERS is on the RTÉ Storyland site www.rte.ie/storyland. Viewers log on, watch and vote for their favourite. Voting is open for one week and the team with the lowest number of votes at the end of each round is eliminated.
